The demand for reliable, sharp and resistant kitchen cutting tools has always been high, with different companies advertising certain types of blades as ideal for different cutting purposes. From the traditional stainless steel to carbon blades, many sellers strive to offer blade types featuring increased resistance and long-lasting sharpness.

One of the sharpest, most resistant materials is Damascus steel. This type of steel was originally used in the Near East to make swords and other blades, and it is traditionally believed to be extremely resistant and impressively sharp. Originally manufactured in the Syrian capital of Damascus, the traditional manufacturing process was lost. However, modern technology allows the re-creation of Damascus steel in forgeries throughout the world.

SiliSlick launched a wide collection of Damascus Japanese VG10 steel, a type of Damascus steel especially suited for kitchen blades. The collection features two types of knives, either with the traditionally-waived blades of classic Damascus knives, or with hammered, polished blades.

The company currently offers both individual Santoku and chef’s knives, as well as other 5-piece knife sets.

The Santoku knives are multi-purpose kitchen knives designed for a variety of cutting, chopping and grinding tasks. The SiliSlick models are available with classic-waived and hammered blades, with a 7.25” blade and a Pakkawood handle designed for increased precision and ease of use.

The chef’s knife was originally designed to slice and disjoint large cuts of meat, but it is now commonly regarded as a multi-purpose kitchen tool. Like the Santoku models, the SiliSlick chef’s knives come in classic-waived and hammered versions, with the same Pakkawood handle for extra comfort.

SiliSlick also offers a Damascus steel cleaver, ideal for hacking through bone or for crushing different ingredients.
